Precautions for Maintenance of Explosion Proof Motor

Ⅰ. How to overhaul explosion proof motors

(1) Special tools such as sockets and wrenches must be used when disassembling the explosion proof motor. General tools (such as pliers, wrenches.) cannot be used, because the screws and nuts for fastening the motor are all set in special recesses.

(2) In order to ensure the flameproof performance, the screws, nuts, spring washers and so on, which are used to fasten the motor must not be lost during disassembly and overhaul. The newly equipped screws, nuts and washers should be configured according to the original size and cannot be changed arbitrarily.

(3) After the explosion proof VFD is disassembled, all parts should be kept, and the explosion proof surfaces must not be damaged by collisions, scratches, etc. If there are scars, you can use copper tin solder (copper-20%, tin-75%, lead-5%) to repair, and then use a spatula to smooth and polish with oil stone.

(4) Special attention should also be paid to the outgoing part. During installation or repair, all parts of the outlet box cannot be lost or damaged. When connecting the cable, do not strip the insulation layer of the cable core wire too long. The core wire should be clamped between the two bow washers on the terminal screw.

Ⅱ. How to judge whether the explosion proof motor meets the explosion proof requirements after maintenance

Re-check according to the relevant technical requirements of the VFD frequency converter after repairing. If the inspection result is qualified, the explosion proof requirement is met. If the inspection result is unqualified, the explosion proof requirement is not met.

But more often, it is necessary to make a preliminary judgment based on the abnormal maintenance parts, items and maintenance methods of the original electrical control equipment, and then determine some explosion proof test items for testing, and there are not all standard requirements. The test items are tested again.
